Symphony v25.1 Users of SaaS (Software as a Service) deployments of Symphony can now take advantage of a new beta AI option to generate visuals quickly. Enter a natural language prompt into the AI Visual Generator with information you'd like to generate a visual for. Symphony reads column names and descriptions to intelligently gather and structure your data to the type of Visual Data Discovery visual you would like to create, or select one if you do not choose one. Example prompts:
Symphony will generate your visual; then you can save it, edit it, or discard it as needed. For more information, see Generate Visuals. Symphony is designed to be Kubernetes-native, and runs on clusters provisioned using Amazon EKS (AWS-managed Kubernetes). The underlying Linux OS is distro-agnostic as long as it supports a compatible container runtime and kubelet version.
Symphony Software as a Service runs on Kubernetes v1.31-v1.33, and is updated regularly.
-
For your self-hosted Symphony environment, v1.29 and above are supported.
Important: insightsoftware strongly recommends and expects you to stay within the latest three supported EKS versions, in line with Amazon Web Services EKS version support lifecycle.

Managed Dashboards and Managed Reports Module
Description |
|---|
Managed Dashboards & Reports 25.3.1 Resolved Issues |
Unnecessarily duplicated requests to data sources have been reduced especially when working with repeating views such as reports. |
Clicking on a data connector from the Data page no longer opens its dialog for users with the Read privilege but not the Write privilege for that file. (File changes were never possible without Write privileges.) |
Auto-generated data cubes now inherit bridge parameters from any other data cubes they use as inputs. If view parameters were already connected before adding data from another source, they may need to be reconnected to the new bridge parameters in the new auto-generated data cube. |
Managed Dashboards & Reports 25.3 Resolved Issues |
Fixed an unexpected error reporting a missing date trimming implementation that could occur when using a data connector with a gateway. |
Fixed an issue where the Data Preview for a data cube does not reflect the value of a parameter value inherited from another data cube used as a data source. |
Fixed unexpected results when setting a bridge parameter default value to Data Default. |
Fixed an error SizeOfHelper: Maximum depth reached that could eventually occur on some systems, requiring the application pool to be recycled or the website service to restart to resolve. |
Improved validation when creating an IIS virtual directory to prevent names from containing spaces. |
Prevented installation of the ASP.NET hosting module prerequisite from being attempted without the required IIS prerequisite when deploying directly on Windows. |
Fixed an issue that could cause the last template cell of a responsive dashboard with certain template layouts to unexpectedly have a smaller width than the others when viewed on a mobile device. |
Fixed an issue causing the configured default theme to be unexpectedly applied to an existing metric set visualization when adding it to a view such as a dashboard. |
Addressed an issue that could cause error message The operation was canceled to appear for visualizations unexpectedly and intermittently under certain conditions. |
Fixed an unexpected error occurring when exporting certain data to Excel that includes a hierarchy placed on Columns in the metric set when there are no rows of data. |
Addressed a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that may be considered high risk affecting the logon page. |
Fixed an issue that could cause incorrect column headers to be exported to Excel for a transposed metric set when group header text has been set up in a table visualization. |

Changes in this Version
Managed Dashboards and Managed Reports
Description |
|---|
Managed Dashboards & Reports 25.3.1 Changes in this Version |
Optionally configure resource limits and requests separately for init containers in the Helm chart when deploying on Kubernetes. |
Managed Dashboards & Reports 25.3 Changes in this Version |
New configuration setting Concurrent Data Cube Build Count can limit the number of storage jobs running at the same time to prevent potential performance issues. The default value for this setting is 5. |
Drag and drop a new stored procedure on top of another one to re-wire/replace it in a data cube's process flow, similar to re-wiring of tables and manual select data connectors. |
New configuration setting Frozen By Default can be enabled to require that users click to opt into updating data from the data source in visualizations after each change affecting the data when editing. |
Power users and developers can now customize parameter values for each recipient of their own notifications without needing to be an administrator. |
Drag and drop items such as table columns in the Properties window to reorder them to any position rather than clicking to move them one position at a time. |
A new location option is available to place parameter values in a separate sheet or tab when exporting to Excel. |
Optionally select other measures to apply the same formatting to them when setting up a measure's text formatting. |
Visualizations in dashboards contained inside of another view such as another dashboard can now be maximized to fill their container using the right-click/context menu. |
A new sheet is included by default when exporting reports to Excel that visually replicates the positioning and styling of its text content as seen when viewing in the browser or in PDF format, including value formatting, state styles, and color rules. |
Improved error messages, new health information and connection options added to help with connection issues when using a gateway to access on-premise data. |
The new configuration setting Maximum Metric Set Element Count prevents adding excessive numbers of elements when working with very large tables or other data structures: it is set by default to 100. |
New configuration setting Default Data Retrieval Mode can optionally customize the initial data retrieval mode set for new metric sets when selecting or dragging data. If not customized, the default mode remains Raw when selecting or dragging an entire table and Standard otherwise. |
The LogReceiver service is now only deployed in Kubernetes by default when deploying Logi Symphony with Visual Data Discovery enabled. |
.NET classes for JSON serialization and deserialization are now available to use when writing DundasScript, including in Generic Web data connectors and data cube calculated elements. |
When the metric set's data cube is checked out to you, you can add new elements added to other data cubes it uses without manually refreshing the Data Cube Transform. |
