Home Page
When you log in, the Symphony home page opens. Explore and interact with your Symphony environment, including its dashboards, visuals, and visualizations in a variety of ways.
Note: In this release, the user interface and workflows have changed from previous releases. If you are running an earlier release, see View the Home Page (Earlier Releases).
This topic covers the different options and features available to you.
View Your Home Page
Easily access the home page of the module you're working in from anywhere in the UI by selecting the Home icon () in the main menu.
Your default home page is determined by your administrator, and may be Visual Data Discovery or Managed Dashboards & Reports.
Switch between Visual Data Discovery and Manged Dashboards as needed.
Depending on your application privileges and licensed features, your home page includes selections that let you navigate to the module you need, jump in to the last items you've worked on, or take actions as needed.
Switch Between Modules
Your home page is defined by your administrator. Each time you open Symphony, your default home page opens, but you can navigate to the home page for another module from your profile menu. Select your profile from the left menu to open your profile menu, then select the appropriate module.
Switch Between Tenants
If you belong to more than one tenant, you can switch between the tenant you are working in using your profile menu. Select your profile from the left menu and navigate to Visual Data Discovery. Open your profile menu again, then select the appropriate tenant.
Use Your Home Pages
Your home pages do not show information or provide links for resources that your application privileges restricts you from viewing. Select any work area to open the corresponding function in Visual Data Discovery or Managed Dashboards and Reports. Alternatively, select an item from the Jump Back In list to pick up where you left off.
Visual Data Discovery
Your Discovery home page includes direct access to a number of work areas you may use to create, update, or review data in your environment.
The main work area may give you access to:
Connection: Connect to and manage your data to use in Symphony.
Source: Configure and enhance your data for use in visuals, dashboards, and reports.
Discovery Board: Create and design stunning visuals from your date in your Dashboards or Reports library.
Report: Create and generate printable paged data documents in your Reports library.
Generate Visuals with AI: Generate visuals of your data by providing natural language prompts.
The menu to the left of your work area may include links to Connections, Data Sources, Visual Gallery, Library, and Visuals with AI.
Expand and collapse the menu by selecting the Discovery icon at the top of the menu. Access the Help and Profile options by selecting, then select any further options. Administrators have access to an Administration menu to perform more environment management tasks. See The Composer UI MenuSymphony Main Menu.
Note: The availability of elements on your home page depends on the access rights that were granted to your user account. See Authorize Symphony Access.
Managed Dashboards and Reports
Your Managed home page includes direct access to a number of work areas you may use to create, update, or review data in your environment.
The main work area may give you access to:
Data Connector: Connect and manage your data to use in Symphony.
Data Cube: Configure and enhance your data for use in visuals, dashboards, and reports.
Metric Set: Create stunning visuals from your data for use in dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
Dashboard: Create interactive web pages with your data.
Report: Create and generate printable paged data documents.
The menu to the left of your work area may include links to All Content, Projects, Data, Library, Business, and Views.
Expand and collapse the menu by selecting the Managed icon at the top of the menu. Access the Help and Profile menus by selecting each menu and any further menu options. View the Home Page (Earlier Releases)
Easily access the home page from anywhere in the UI by selecting the Home icon () in the main menu.
Depending on your application privileges and licensed features, this home page includes selections that let you navigate to the module you need, jump in to the last items you've worked on, or take actions as needed. This includes entry points for:

In addition to these selections, your name as registered in Symphony is shown in this work area. Select the expand () and collapse (
) arrows or menu icon (
) to expand and collapse the main menu.
