Data Connector Reference
Symphony data connectors are used to connect to your data stores. Each data connector has capabilities and limitations when connected to the Symphony server. This topic highlights those details and provides a link to more information about each connector. For information about setting the parameters required by a connector to connect to a data store, see Manage Data Discovery Data Store Connections. For information on how to download and install a connector that is not provided in the default Symphony installation, see Obtain Additional Connector Servers.
The connectors below are organized for use in Data Discovery dashboards, Managed Dashboards, and Managed Reports.
Some connectors can only be used in managed dashboards, reports, visualizations, and more.
All connectors that work in data discovery dashboards and visuals can also be used in managed dashboards, reports, visualizations and more using the ODBC connector to data discovery.
Important: You can use a Managed Dashboard connection as a data source or in a fusion data source in Visual Data Discovery. See Add and validate a connection to a data cube.
Managed Dashboards & Reports Data Connectors
Create and manage these data connectors when working in the Managed Dashboards & Reports module. Some additional connectors are available from Visual Data Discovery, but management of these connectors is in the Visual Data Discovery module. You can also use data sources that utilize many of these connectors in Visual Data Discovery.

Visual Data Discovery Data Connectors
Create and manage these data connectors when working in the Visual Data Discovery module. You can also use data sources that utilize these connectors in Managed Dashboards and Reports in Symphony.

In addition to the official Symphony connectors listed above, Symphony allows you to:
- Upload a flat file for viewing in visuals and dashboards.
- Dynamically upload and stream your data in real time using the Symphony Upload API.
Both the flat file uploads and the Upload API use port 8105 and require that PostgreSQL be enabled. While these processes are not strictly data connectors, they are additional methods of providing data for Symphony.
