Add and Edit Tenant Users
Once your tenant environment is set up, tenant admin users can create your users and other tenant admins.
Note: In this release, the user interface and workflows have changed from previous releases. If you are running an earlier release, see Add a new user to a tenant (earlier releases).
Log in as a system admin or tenant admin. If you are logged in as a tenant admin, verify you're in or switch to the appropriate tenant.
Select Users from the Administration menu in Visual Data Discovery. The Users work area opens.
-
Select New User. A Create User pop up window opens.
-
Supply values for the User Name, Full Name, Email, and Password. These are required fields. Select your new tenant from the drop-down list.
If you are a tenant admin, this user is automatically assigned to this tenant as a member of the admin group.
If you are a system admin, select the appropriate Tenant or tenants from the drop-down list.
Leave Administrator and Global disabled.
No other fields are required, but you can use this work area to select a language for the user, select region presets, and a time zone. If these settings affect how numbers, currencies, and times are displayed, a preview is shown. Optionally, define Custom Attributes for this tenant for use in your environment.
Select Create User to create the new user. A success message appears, and you are returned to the User work area.
Note: You may not see a user you've created or added until after they log in for the first time.
To update, edit, or make other changes to existing users, see Edit an Existing User.
